- Richard Lambert
Making ART | Episode 11: Pamela Rose Mangus, Actress
Please join The New Phoenix Theatre on the Park as we walk down memory lane. As we continue to plan for next steps with the uncertainty of COVID-19, we are sharing testimonials from some of the amazing artists who emblazoned their imprint on our stage. We hope with all our hearts to be back with you soon.
For now, here is a message from Pamela Rose Mangus:
“I first met Richard Lambert, doing the play Torch Song Trilogy, before The New Phoenix Theatre was in existence. We liked each other immediately and have been dear friends ever since. My first show with The New Phoenix was A Taste of Honey, directed by Richard. It’s a wonderfully dramatic play and a great opportunity I will always remember. The New Phoenix has always chosen challenging and interesting plays to perform and has been my home away from home many times.
One of my most memorable experiences with The New Phoenix was in their production of Cloud 9, with Richard and several other extremely talented actors. It's a very strange play, on paper, but The New Phoenix Theatre, under the direction of Kelli Bocock-Natale, turned it into a magical, memorable and thoroughly entertaining piece. Once again, I was given a wonderful opportunity to play an amazing role, and to this day people still tell me how much they loved that production. Just another example of the forward-thinking, creative vision of Richard Lambert and The New Phoenix Theatre. Thank you for always keeping me 'on the radar' and especially for my next opportunity. I'm proud to say I shall be returning to The New Phoenix next season for another challenging role, alongside Richard, in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf. I can't wait.
With love, admiration and gratitude,
Pamela Rose Mangus
